| Step 1: Read the "Are You Ready for a Rescue Weimaraner?" questions and see if you can answer each one. Step 2: Take the 'Is a Weimaraner Right for You?' Quiz Step 3: You can contact us through email or by completing our Adoption Application. Please let us know about your family, your home, and what your ideal Weimaraner would be like. Keep in mind that we place the dogs in the best homes for them . . . not in order of how long anyone has been on our list, or what you are looking for. Step 4: Have your home ready to accept a Weimaraner. We do not place dogs in homes where they are left outside. We do not place dogs in homes with no fenced yard. Invisible fencing is not acceptable, nor is living on acreage without fencing. There are exceptions to every rule, so don't be afraid to ask about our dogs. Here are the basics for being a responsible Weimaraner owner: - a lifestyle that allows you to spend a lott of time with your dog - a home that you feel comfortable letting aa dog live inside with you - a fully fenced, dog proof yard of reasonabble size - access to inside "heated, dry" shelter in the winter - access to a cool place in the summer - a budget that can afford quality dog food and an occasional veterinary emergency - a vehicle that you can safely transport yoour dog in Step 5: You should know that: - We do not place dogs that are not spayed oor neutered. - We do not place dogs in homes where they hhave to live outside. - We do not place dogs in homes where they aare expected to be in a dog house, chained, or live in a kennel. Step 6: Each adoption is different. There is no set fee, but fees usually range from $150 to $300. Sometimes the fee is the cost of medical care or a spay/neuter. Note: We rarely see very young dogs. Often we do not have any Weims that can tolerate cats. Very often our dogs have 'issues'. All of our dogs are rescues; abandoned, mistreated, abused, or just plain not wanted any more because they are a bother. Puppies: If you would like a puppy, very young dog, or simply a well bred dog, let us know. We would be thrilled to put you in touch with a reputable breeder. We implore you to avoid puppy mills, pet shops, and buying over the web. If you are interested in a puppy, please contact us for a list of reputable breeders in the Northwest. |
