BERNIE
   Rescued by: Paul
Bernie is doing fine.  We forgot how much trouble a young dog can get into; nothing to be concerned
about, just some normal Weim things.  He is adjusted to the point that he is listening to the house rules
and is getting settled into our routine.  He is a great dog with a very active personality.  I have had them
both out  in the field together.  So far, without the distraction of other dogs and of course no birds yet,
they both work in front of me very well.  They don't compete for the same space and they crisscross
each other well.   I cannot wait until the season to get a real good chance to work with two dogs.

ALLIE
    Rescued by: Fran, September 2007
Allie is doing fine. Her job learning "country life" is progressing.  She is learning to get the mail and the evening paper.
Boxes are about 100 feet from the house.  A snap, unless there are birds around. She is a bird dog, so birds are to be
chased if you are outside. Barked at if you are inside. I have a bird feeder right outside my frontwindow. She spends
a lot of time at the window harassing them.
Allie goes out with me when I'm working in the back yard.
Yesterday
afternoon she spent quite a while bouncing at the
cows and calves through the fence.  When I went to the
barn to feed
in the evening, my daughter Sherry was here. After everyone was in the barn eating, Sherry brought
Allie out. She had a hard time getting her
to come in the barn, She finally made it and had lots of new smells to
snuffle.  Allie gets worried if she comes in the house and
can't find me. I leave the back door open so she can
go in and out during
the day. (flies too-oh well!) She zips around through the rooms
until she hears me, comes
and gives me a smooch, then quiets down.

JAKE
Rescued by: Bernie & Donna, October 2007

Jake (formerly Aiden) has finally found the perfect home.  After several homes and stays in a shelter, Jake's new, loving home is his last stop.  He plays famously with all of the neighborhood dogs as well as others at the dog park he gets to visit regularly.  He enjoys long daily walks and runs and is treated like a member of the family.  He especially loves cuddling with his new family on the bed!

LUKE
     Rescued by: Missy, 2007

When we first met Luke he was severly underweight and staying at a shelter in Washington. He tipped the scales at only 59 pounds.  Luke is now happy and healthy in his new home, and has put on some much needed weight!

COAL
Rescued by: John & Stephanie, December 2007

Coal is a stunning Weimaraner with his shiny graphite coat and shimmering eyes.  After an accident when he was younger, Coal was left with three legs.  John & Stephanie adopted Coal and made him a very special member of the family.

COOPER
   Rescued by: Lisa, January 2008
Cooper is doing very well.  He has blended right in with the family.  I think he likes being a farm dog!
This week he got to experience the joy of trimmed horse hoof or as we call it "hoofie".  He is a bit of a
chow hound and we have to be vigilant about keeping food away from him---especially butter cubes.

All in all, he's fitting in quite nicely.
BUDDY
   Rescued By: Larry & Tom

Wanted to let you know that Buddy is doing great and as you can see by the picture, the cat is a none issue.   You were right about just giving it enough time and Buddy sort of ignores the cat.  We have been trying to get a picture of the two of them drinking out of the same water bowl at the same time.  He is a very happy boy that has adjusted well to our family.  He loves Amos and always wants to right beside him. We can't thank you enough for finding us a perfect match.

KENYA
Rescued by: Dawn Marie & George
Kenya is doing just great. She's really thriving in this environment, and I think ourlifestyle and family makeup are
just right for her. She seems secure about her place in the pack and hasn't shown any signs of anxiety such as the
poop eating you mentioned or attempts to annihilate her surroundings. She cracks us up with her silly behavior,
brings us little joys with her acts of love and devotion and occasionally challenges us with her willful spirit. She
learned the house rules quickly, although she likes to test them every now and then to see if we've forgotten or
gone soft, but we know perfectly well how to be benevolent dictators.

LOOSHA
Rescued by:  The Martenson's, March 2007

Loosha is another pup from the litter born while mom Suzie was in rescue.  She sure has turned out to be a beautiful girl!  She is happily living with her family in Oregon.

ROXANNE
Rescued by: Mark & Dorothy, October 2007

Roxy no longer plays leap frog with the furniture, she sleeps in her own bed. Miraculously, no cookies have gone missing!  Roxy has bonded very well with Mark. She is very enthusiastic about her walks and rides. She loves attention – and gets lots of it!  She is a great dog!

LUCY
   Rescued by: Greg & Edwin

Lucy has been living the good life for two years now in Portland with her new family.

GRACIE MAE

Rescued by: Mary, 2007

Well, we are doing just great! The trip home was no problem; Mark and I
took turns snuggling with her in the back seat. When we arrived at our home,
she trotted around and checked out each room and seemed to like her new
digs. Gracie has been a delight! We have been very clear and consistent with
any "house rules", and she has readily cooperated. She barks when visitors
stop by, but once she's introduced and given the OK, she welcomes the person - hey, must be someone new to play with! She enjoyed the hike around Emigrant Lake yesterday as well as her regular shorter jaunts around here. And then there is the tennis ball... She is resting at my feet while I type this awaiting the next adventure!

ANNIE
Rescued by: Mark & Amy, March 2007

I wasn't looking for another dog as I already had a Weimaraner, but I occasionally like to look at the rescue sites.  The day I came across Bunny (now Annie) my fate was sealed.  I read Annie's bio and I was heartbroken. Would anyone ever adopt her or love her?  Annie has Spina Bifida, a condition that causes her to hop instead of walking normally.  I was so worried that no one would want her because she wasn't a perfect dog.  I knew that I had to meet her, so I made the 3 hour trek to Vancouver and met Annie & her foster mom Felica.  She was only about 5 months old, tiny compared to my large Weim, beautiful, and moving around just fine.  I was in love and knew that I had to adopt her.  I took her home 2 weeks later prepared to deal with her limitations.  The best way to describe her condition is that it looks like she has Scoliosis of the spine.  She has a curvature in her spine and something is fused which makes her unable to separate her back legs when she walks.  The back legs move together similar to a hopping motion.  We have now had Annie for 4 months and she is doing fabulous.  She completely surprised us and has no real limitations other than not being able to run as fast as our other Weim, but she manages to keep up!  I babied her a little at first because of her condition, then soon realized that this dog is completely normal and that she would soon be running the show if I didn't increase my discipline level!  She is so special, well loved, and has brought so much joy to our lives.  People often stop me and ask what is wrong with my dog, and I just smile and tell them everything is just right with her, she just walks a little different!  I wanted to thank this organization and the foster homes for their tireless dedication to finding homes for these dogs.  Adopting has truly been a blessing for me.

GUNNAR
   Rescued by: John & Elizabeth
Gunnar is great!  We love this dog!  He has adjusted beautifully to our house and schedule and is doing very well
with our constant stream of visitors.  He is especially fond of the high schoolers and "Guitar Hero/Movie Night"
on Fridays.  He is very obedient and comes when he is called, so he has been able to go to the dog park and run
off-leash.  He has become a devoted LSU fan and loves his purple and gold fleece blanket (picture).  He has also become
a big fan of the Corvallis High School girls' softball team, and has gone to all their home games so far.  We need
to get him a Spartan blue collar to wear for the remainder of the season.  He is so mellow and sweet.  All our

Easter
guests were impressed with his good behavior and good-natured outlook.  No one can believe
he is still a puppy!  Thanks for helping us find him.
TESSIE
   Rescued by: Nancy

We couldn't be more happy with Tessie! She loves to snuggle under the covers at night. Although once she's down there is no moving her. Grab your blanket before she gets settled or you'll be without.  We're anxious for warmer days so hopefully we can see how she does at the dog park. Or possibly we can start to jog some.  Did I tell you she loves broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower and peas? Amazing! She has our hearts! Thanks again for putting us together.

SOPHIE
    Rescued By:    February 2007

We renamed Cindy - Sophie.  Sophie is doing really well.  She is a little stinker but very smart and eager to learn.  I have been working with her on the leash and she already knows how to sit.  She is such a sweetheart and we all adore her. She definitely wears out our German Shorthair by pestering him all day long.
She has grown a ton!  (Sophie is one of the puppies born after her mother, Suzie, came into our rescue pregnant)

DUNDEE
Rescued by: The Abdelnours, March 2007

Dundee was one of the puppies born after his mother, Suzie, came into our rescue pregnant.  He sure is a good looking Weim-Lab mix boy!  Dundee now lives in Washington where he spent the summer on the water.  He's looking forward to his first winter in the Pacific Northwest!
