Bailey and Wilson

Meet Bailey and Wilson!

These two are in need of a new home due to a tragic incident involving their owners. They had been living a good life with their owner and her 13 y/o son until suddenly, they had to be rehomed.

They are bonded and will be rehomed together. Bailey is the shorter of the two in the green collar.

Bailey is 4, spayed and weighs about  73lbs.  Wilson is 2, neutered and weighs about 70 lbs. They share the same parents.  Both are house trained, current on vaccines, microchipped, crate trained, and accustomed to hanging out on furniture to be next to their people - haha!

Due to the urgency of Bailey and Wilson needing a home, a very kind family stepped in to keep them from going to the shelter.  They are giving them as much TLC as they have time to, but the dogs spend their time outside during the day and in the garage at night, as the family has four children and two dogs in the home already!

Bailey and Wilson get along incredibly well with the four kids ages 5, 7, 13 and 15.  The younger kids freely run around the yard, yelling and having fun and none of this bothers either dog.

They are doing fine with two large breed resident dogs, a female and a male. There have been a couple arguments started by the resident female dog as she does not necessarily want the interlopers getting playful with her boyfriend, but they are able to sort things out without any fighting.

Bailey and Wilson are very good dogs.  They need exercise like all Weimaraners do and without it they are very ... busy! When their caregivers are indoors, Bailey and Wilson want to be inside with them, so they bark and whine to be let in. They’ll also bark when the people walk outside as they are quite anxious for people-time right now.

Bailey is a sweet girl.  She is the more active and vocal of the two.  Wilson is also very sweet; he’s more laid back and really only gets wound up when Bailey does. They love snuggling with people and each other.

We do not know how they are with cats or small dogs, but with proper introduction we believe a smaller dog will be fine as they are good with dogs in general.  We will presume given they are a hunting breed, that cats are not a go.

We would love to move them to Western Idaho, closer to Oregon and Washington to make it easier for people to meet them for adoption. But will entertain a longer distance transport for foster or adoption.

If you can foster, please let us know at info@oregonweimrescue.org.

If you are interested in adoption, please submit an application.
