Oregon Weimaraner Rescue

Boone is a very loyal, loving and silly 2 year old male Weimaraner who is looking for a new and active home to make his own! This healthy 65# guy enjoys the presence of his people and would love to accompany them through every step and journey in life. Boone enjoys sniffing in fields and going for walks (though he could use more training on leash), sleeping next to you (if allowed) and receiving snuggles. His commands include: sit, lay down, off, come, stay, leave it, kennel and out. This goofball is fully potty trained, wire crate trained and has shown no destructive tendencies in the home except that like most good Weims he will totally counter surf if the prize is deemed worthy :) The moment you come home he will give hugs, kisses and drops to his back and does his wiggle floor dance to show you how happy he is that you have returned and he is freed from his crate. Boone has enjoyed engaging with all ages of children in the home and is very gentle with younger kids but when he gets excited he can still lose his spatial awareness. Currently Boone lives with an English bulldog, 2 cats and 3 children ages 2, 9 and 11. He loves to help clean the cats - though they probably prefer to do it themselves, he is just being helpful. He is fairly docile and has never shown aggression though he will definitely notify you with his voice if someone unknown is on his property. He also LOVES when he is talked to because he will talk to you right back. Fun fact, he is a nooker. The one thing Boone is not a fan of at the moment, though perhaps another dog showing him 'the way' would change this, is water. He will walk into water up to his knees but he has shown zero interest in swimming and loves to go full limp mode when it is load in the shower time haha. Although Boone is accustomed to long stretches in his crate, we are looking for a new home where he will not need to be regularly crated for hours on end and will instead enjoy being a regular part of family life and its accompanying mental stimulation.

 

***Boone is 2 years old and is ready to be neutered. Veterinary appointments being what they are, very hard to come by on short timeframes, we anticipate needing to schedule with his adoptive owners to complete this necessary procedure after placement***
