Oregon Weimaraner Rescue

Smokey is a wildly friendly and curious 18 month old blue male Weimaraner who is 70#, current on his vaccines, neutered (+ gastropexy), microchipped and looking for an active home to make his own.

Smokey is a total lush when it comes to attention from dogs and people alike. He loves roughhousing with our young male weimaraner and will also snuggle in with our older female weimaraners in the evening. During the day he spends a lot of his time outdoors strolling the fenced property while periodically checking in on foster dad working in his shop or heading indoors to lay on foster moms feet while she works at her computer (this is not figurative haha). At night or when we are going to be away for an extended time he stays in his wire crate without issue but he would happily sleep on your chest if you wanted that all of the time lol. Smokester has no problem eating alongside our other dogs and although he is a rambunctious young dog he takes social queues from the other dogs quite well and knows when to leave them alone,  when to play and when to do his own thing. His favorite activities are getting loved on by people, "patrolling" the property in nice weather, chewing bones and playing fetch. Smokey is a very soft dog who responds quite well to all of the basic commands so long as you aren't yelling (raising your voice towards him results in him avoiding you). If you look at the photos you will notice that Smokey has a deformed skull...we do not have the story or any explanation to provide but what we have observed is that it doesn't seem to bother him any. Other Notes: He bathes quite well, is non destructive in the home, alerts to go potty, walks well on-leash, likes car rides, accepted his nails being trimmed and is quite tolerant of all our poking and prodding.
